Truth is, a bad diet = consuming large amount of calories way more than what you can burn off. Yes, you might be working out everyday, for long hours. But for most people, what you burn might not be enough to offset what you eat. Shocking, but true. Some people have a mistaken mindset that they can eat rubbish or anything they want since they workout and that it’d be burned off. I was one of them and I’m telling you not to make the same mistake that I did. 
For me, I didn’t realized how much calories I was consuming from my poor eating habits and for the longest time ever, I was puzzled why even though I was so active, I wasn’t losing weight/still fat and even gaining more weight. Because I was so wrong in thinking that I could cancel a bad diet with exercise. Truth is, I was underestimating how much calories I was consuming and overestimating how much calories I was actually burning. I regret that I didn’t come to that realization faster, if I did, I would have a much easier time losing weight (since I was way active in school than I was now). I will always retell this story of mine as often as I can because it is such an important realization and such a common misconception people have. I wished someone told me this earlier.
I’m not saying you can’t indulge, you can. But in moderation & eat well for most of the time.
